Lightbulb minis madness and dedicated minis

First, I love all my minis. I have a hard time parting with any of them so I had enough mini pigs to get a Celestial Pig. I WISH Anet would continue with the Mini Madness contest. I really would like to have some of the really rare minis and even as a fairly motivated player It's not going to happen. More Mini Madness PLEASE. As far as I'm conserned this could be a permanent monthly contest. And I don't care if it brings the prices down I actually think that would be a good thing. Less insentive for people to buy nasty gold for real money.

Second, an observation about dedicated minis. My father used to tell me I can't have my cake and eat it too. But A net has found a way around this old truth. You can get a mini, dedicate it to yourself in the future and sell the old one to someone else. It's like the futures market. I'm not sure this was a good idea. I understand the problems involved with the HoH and minis. But I think you ought to rethink this whole mini pet future thing. Wait until GW2 and all these people want to take their bone dragons on and they can't because it's dedicated to someone else. Trust me even though every one knows the idea of dedicated and undedicated your going to have people screaming.

tbh the arre mini's such as zhed's and shiroken's arent that expensive anymore and with some farming you could get one.

And if they keep letting them out they won't be "rare" anymore so..

Buying a dedicated mini is fair warning that you can't take it with you, anyone who doesn't know what a dedicated mini is should ask the seller (or google it themselves).

Also 'can't have your cake and eat it to'? I have never understood that phrase, surely having a cake means you are supposed to eat it. 'Can't have your cake and half-pence to' makes far more sense.

Mini Madness? Yes. More minis, but different skinned minis (mini Margonites!).
/signed for mini Margonites OR /signed for more promotions like the mini Destroyer as long as they are more accessible to the global market

What this Game imo needs, is more Minipets, that are like the Black Moa Chick.
There you have to work for them and it is guaranteed, that someday you will have your own one. Those minipets don't get influenced by any crap of the broken economy, they have a steady resource and to aquire them makes alot more fun and is more motivating, than to farm like silly for half eternities money and rare mats, to be able maybe someday to buy a rarer one off of any player, that sells the mini, that you want to have, nor do you have to wait for such minins several years, in hope to get them out with much luck of a birthday present...

What GW imo still needs about Minipets is finally a way to make all those super insane uber rare limited minis finally alot more common. Their prices are way beyond normality and they are one of the big reasons, why the economy of this game is so freaking broken, because those minipets are one of the less reasons, why people cheat and buy ebay gold ...that sucks and has to be bound off to find an End, os that the games economy may eventually recover, after we survive the massive whine wave of posers, which can't sell then anymore their minis for 100p and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ectos or xxxxxx armbraces >.>

Best would be, to make all rare pets, so

Grawl
Oni
Shiro'ken Assassine
Panda / Polar Bear
Naga Raincaller
Longhair Yeti
Vizu (Nika) (typo, that should get finally fixed, pet named Vizu, but its Nika)
Island Guardian
Zhed Shadowhoof
Kanaxai
Ghostly Hero

Those ones should have all Ways, like thwe Black Moa Chick, to be received by the player by doing Quest Chains of getting certain Materials and Items for them to trade those Minis in.

Grawl:

Lets say you have to get for a Mini Grawl:

250 Stone Grawl Necklaces
From the End Chest of the Slime Dungeon a Quest Item beign called "Grawl King Scepter"
Then you need the Crown Head Gear that you get from the Norn Tournament by trading for Tokens..
You would have to do 3 Quests of the Difficulty "Master" to prove the Grawls your Strength, Courage and Wisdom.

Once done all 3 Quests, got the 250 Necklaces, the Scepter and your Crown, you become King/Queen of Grawls *Lawls* and get a Mini Grawl XD
****
****

Oni:

Collect

125 Keen Oni Claws
125 Keen Oni Talons

Trade them in at a Trader NPC at Harvet Temple for a "Soul of an Oni"

Go with that Soul to Budo in Kaineng, when you have it, he will tell you, where Kainengs "Black Market" is hidden in the Downtown *cough* possibility to also implement the Xunlai Market *cough*
The Black Market will be also in the near of the Xunlai market, hidden in shadows, dark as the night, where no starlight will shine and time does stop to tick. Such or somethign similar iwll be then the Words of Budo to you.

So you have to find the Black markez by solving a Riddle.

You get a quest, where you have to run more npcs and to talk to them ,to receive more infos and parts of that riddle, that will help you to find out, how to get from the Xunlai Market to the hidden Black Market (instance)

Once you solve the riddle, you will find at the Black Market a NPC, that will buy your Soul of an Oni for 5 Platin.

he iwll give you after that another Quest, where you have to go to a Place on Pongmei Valley.
With this Quest on, the Place will become complete empty of any foes and animals.

You go just straight to the place, where you have to meet the quest giver, btw better said, that, what has become out of it in the meantime XD *g*.

Your Quest giver has become nuts, total went insane and has transformed into an Oni, mumbling things about, killing anyone, that comes into his way (around him wil lie masses of corpses of killed creatures, jade brotherhoods ect. of that area, - the reason why the place is empty, he killed everything)

You have there then in the valley a Boss Fight. Your Foe, the crazy Oni will be a level 30/34 Assassine/Ritualist that will be able to summon Spirit Onis at his side to help him and that attacks self with a quick attack combo combined with Splinter Weapon. His helpers will spirits of all other professions, execpt paragons and dervishs ...
Those Spirit Onis have 1 Special Ability, that ,whenever 1 gets killed, 2 new will appear and those Oni Spirits that he summons, will act like Guardians , that move ever around his master, like a Spirit Shield (similar like the gameplay of Chaos Legion)

When you beat this Boss Oni, he will drop then for you a Oni Minipet.
Its no real quest, like those normal ones, you can't give it up, to farm that boss, so forget about thta, don't start thinking on that XD
****
****

Shiro'ken Assassine

For that one you would have simple to kill say like 10000 Shiro'ken Creatures, than you could talk to a NPC at the last Mission of Factions, and as reward of cleaning Cantha from so much Shiro'kens, you will receive a Mini Shiro'ken...
****
****

Longhair Yeti:

Collect 250 Stolen Supplies

Once you have them, searth a NPC Trader, which will give you for them a Quest Item for exchange. The Trader will be fount at Mt. Quinkai.

For the stolen supplies, you will receive a "White Fairywing Flower"

1 of 3 needed Quest Items needed later to heal a Yeti, that has become ill.

When you go then to Nightfall to the Kodash Basar, you will be able to trade the in for 10 Trade Contracts the 2nd Quest Item "Oil of Owls *cough* Olaz *cough* XD

Travel now to Tyria to the Mineral Springs, find there a NPC trader, that wants Feathered Avicara Scaps, he will trade you for them an Empty Bottle, that you will need to fill into it some Mineral Water from the Spring.
You need exaxtly 5 Bottles with Mineral Water.

when you have now all three things, the White Fairwing Flower, 5 Bottles of Mineral Water and the Oil of Owls, then go to the Jaya Bluffs. There you will find under the hostile Yetis then one, that will be hostile, but won't attack you and that suffers on a degeneration.

When you kill all others, before that 1 Yeti dies (he will have some more health, than all others) and the ill one won't attack you), then he becomes friendly for sparing his life. He will tell you than, that he will go back to his home in the Mt. Quinkai to cure his illness.
So now you have to go back to Quinkai to the cave of the Yetis, where you will find the Yeti. Give him there the 3 Quest items and for trade you will receive a mini longhair yeti.
****
****

Naga Raincaller:

Collect:

100 Naga Hide
100 Naga Skin
100 Naga Pelt

Get from the Dungeon Chest of Darkcrime Delves the Quest Item "Snake Emerald"

get from the Dungeon Chest of Shards of Orr the Quest item "Ancient Snake Tooths"

get from the Dungeon Chest of Bloodstone Caves "Vial of Snake Blood"

once you have all 3 things, go to the Tengus at the Shing Jea Island and give them the leader of the Tengus.
You will get from them then a quest, where the Leaders of the Naga and the Naga will have a Meeting in the Haiju Lagoon.

You have to protect the meetign then from a large invasion of Afflicteds, until the meeting is over. Once the meeting is over and all have survived, talk with the Leader of the Naga, which will reward you with a Naga Minipet for being the ones, which saved all from the afflicted and making the peace contract between tengus and Naga possible.
****
****

Can't think now of more examples atm, but I'm sure, that anet could make of such similar quests, like the one of the BMC, where the players has to work something for their Mini.

With such quests would become those uber rare minis finally more common, prices would fall to a humanous amount, more people would becoem able to buy them, thus meanign it would be better for the economy and those minis would also receive a way of a ressource, so that they aren't limited anymore, so that ever new undedicated ones can find into the game

Dedication: Well, that's their own fault then, isn't it? They knew they couldn't dedicate it, they knew they can't transfer it to GW2, so it's their own fault.

Anyway, signed for the first. And uh, I don't know the suggestion you're trying to make with the 2nd one

Well, once dedicated, it's not the same item.

But I do agree that all miniatures with limited sources should have unlimited ones, no matter how low the rate, but at least something.

I actually like the idea of doing quests to get the rare minis. But
Anet could not even take the time to do a couple of quests for the birthday celebration, the chances of more quests for minis are pretty slim. But I would certainly do them if they were there. My Black Moa Chick is one of my favorite ones..

The observation about dedication was just that an observation. I personally would never under any conditions buy a dedicated mini. I think it would be a waste of money. I just feel there is something worng with the system and it was not thought out.

The Euro players(and the rest of the non North American players) would bitch and moan like there was no tomorrow as the Mini Madness wasn't global. And to make it global, Anet/NCsoft would have to pay Euro magazines to host their raffle thing again and we'd get hit by another wave of QQ threads.

It was a gift, accept it and stop asking for more. Try your hand at the 3rd anniversary thing instead.

1) Not signed - Although I do not mind the "special even giveaway" - to make it monthly is just overboard. I do however think that in any future giveaway it should be concentrated on the rare minis not already included in the last one ie, Kanaxai, panda, Island Guardian etc.

2) It warns you quite clearly that the item is dedicated. Why on earth would ANYONE complain about not being able to get their Bone Dragon out in GW2 (if that is really how its going to work) - which is a separate game when they chose not to get items to put into the HoM? I like the dedicated/unded method as it means some people can get hold of rare minis cheaply. Once dedicated I either delete/give away most of the white minis anyway.

I agree in part, some of the minis are absurdly rare, however the answer is not to make them common and worthless. It would be nice to have a mini madness contest and hand out a bunch of minis maybe twice a year. That way the price would go down only a little but people might have access to them. As it is, I imagine people who have the money to buy a certain one probably have a hard time finding an undedicated one for sale.

It would also be nice to have another one like the black moa, but it ain't gonna happen and it shouldn't be done with an existing one.
